Kelly, that type of autopsy is not performed often. What they are looking for is deep bruises in the muscle tissue to look for repeatability. I've seen these before and this is the only way to see a deep muscle bruise, which shows violence over a long period of time. This is usually done to the back so not to interfere with an open casket showing
