Diego Fernando de Souza Shot Dead on Bus in Almirante Tamandaré, Feb. 26, 2011
Diego Fernando de Souza, 21, was shot and killed aboard a city bus on Rua São Paulo in Almirante Tamandaré, Paraná, on February 26, 2011. Police said a woman had been selling drugs for Souza for about a month to work off a debt and had decided to leave the area with her young child. She was carrying clothes, drugs for sale and the proceeds from that day when Souza boarded the bus with three other men. Police said he vaulted the turnstile while armed, approached the woman and struck her in the head with his gun in front of her child. The woman drew a .38-caliber revolver from her bag and fired three shots into Souza's chest. She fled the bus on foot while still armed but was stopped by an off-duty military police officer. She received treatment for a head wound and was taken to the police station, where police booked her for homicide and drug trafficking.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |
