Diana Elizabeth Martinez Espinosa Found Dead After Her Graduation, 2018
Diana Elizabeth Martinez Espinosa was found dead near a dirt track in the La Cartonera area of Chalco, State of Mexico, on July 17, 2018, one day after she attended an end-of-course graduation ceremony. She had left her home in San Miguel Xico at about 6:45 a.m. on July 16 to attend the ceremony at Centro de Bachillerato Tecnologico No. 6 in Chalco. Afterward, she traveled in a shared passenger van with a schoolfriend and planned to attend a graduation party. Her friend got out near the Carma entertainment venue on the Mexico-Cuautla federal highway, leaving Martinez Espinosa alone in the vehicle. She never reached the party. People passing the dirt track found her body face down beside rubbish at about 10 a.m. She was still wearing her school uniform, and her ankles had been bound with a gray necktie. The State of Mexico prosecutor's office investigated the case. No cause of death was published, and no arrest was reported.       |
