Can someone, anyone, inform us as to the true, inside story as to why all Thai first responders and police uniformly point at the road kill? Is there some operational reason? Or evidentiary reason? Or just some odd local national practice? A lot of the pointers in this thread look unhappy doing it, so is there some SOP that requires it for the job performance?

I've been browsing this stuff since about 2005 and the big tsunami, and this is the first time I've seen a collection of pointers ... very interesting, and thanks for the work.

But WHY does the Thai police/first responder system require the pointing? I get it that they are all trying to please DR readers, but is there more??
