Re: Death by Wood Chipper
Yuk I had a very similar experience when i was working as a green keeper on a golf course, we had a contract company come in to chip the waste and he had a deaf, mute and mildly disabled work experience boy with him. The boy ended up feeding the waste into the chipper while i forked the chippings onto the trailer and the contractor and my colleague chainsawed tree trunks to feed to the boy to chip. Next thing i knew was when the boys hands landed at my feet still in the protective gloves we gave him, he had severed both hands from the arms and the remains were mince. We bandaged his hands with clothing and called an ambulance. He succesfully sued for an undisclosed amount and i doubt he works shredding trees anymore. Was the single worst experience of my life. |
