Death by Staircase
12/9/01. Durham, Nc, USA. The trial behind this is ongoing, and garnered some significant national attention at one point way back. Michael Peterson was a small-time author who claims he found his wife lying in a pool of blood at the bottom of their residence's staircase. He thought it was an accidental fall. Turns out she sustained multiple blows to the head, ruling out just a "fall" and strengthening the case against him. 15 years later and a new trial is underway, Michael maintains his innocence to this day. The crime-scene photos were released recently, but I didn't see any on here so I thought I'd share. |

He also had a previous wife who died mysteriously in the same way, but IIRC they did not charge him or investigate. This was in Germany I think.

Re: Death by Staircase
Maybe she fell down the staircase in the Munster's house and Spot had a chomp at her.

Re: Death by Staircase
The staircase was found guilty of first degree murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.

Re: Death by Staircase
Umm, no. A child of five wouldn't believe this was a stair fall. She's got blood all over her feet and by the amount of blood you'd think she was stabbed seven times. No. She was trying to get away from an attacker. Like an asshole husband.
