Correct. The high voltage from the wall shorts out inside the white converter, melts things, and jumps to the "low voltage" cable that goes to his phone or device. Ta-Da. I think this is a much more painful and prolonged death than we see on DR with the bigger lines and cables. This poor kid had ear buds or something that put that high voltage straight into his brain. In the US, this case would be a $2-5 million settlement for his family, but they will get nothing in most countries of the world, where the manufacturers sell this consumer garbage. Simone, good post. Very educational for everyone to read, and be aware of the danger from letting this "low voltage" cables too near our heads or bodies. |
