I remembered this one so I found the files, first time trying to upload so I hope it works. Ned Kelly's death mask. Notice you can tell his neck was broken from being hanged when you look at some of the death mask images. He and his gange are celebrated outlaws from the late 1800's in Australia. They fashioned home made armour out of plows and wore it in a massive shootout with police after their plan to derail a whole police train failed. Only Ned survived with multiple gunshot wounds to be hanged by the state later.  ·  ·  · |

Excellent post, really interesting  The masks are a bit creepy yet all look so peaceful. Traumatic injury ones would look like crazy art! |

Well, the Beethoven one pretty much proves old timely artists were pretty accurate. Which makes looking at paintings of historical figures all the more interesting to me now.  |
