There are Asians in California who manufacture fireworks at home on a commercial basis. In the mid-nineties, in The Avenues in San Francisco, one of the home workshops blew up and took out the entire house, along with whatever occupants there were.

fireworks are pretty legal in Brazil... you can even buy dinamite quite easily... sometimes a firework factory or 2 explodes, but no big deal...

problem is any other firework is illegal to buy except from 24-31 of december and is illegal to fire except from 6pm until 2 am from 31. of december until 1. of january... so one day a year  |
