Re: Death Gate W/ Background
It doesn't look the event described in the news. The woman in the picture is trapped by an automatic door, she's standing and it seems she tried to go walk through it while it was closing. The news is about a woman trying to open a gate/door/barrier, leaned out of the car to reach the card sensor, the car moved and trapped her against the cement post, not the door. The door was not involved. Anyway, I remember a case like the one in the picture. A guy was trying to get into the bank before closing time. It was in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the Nacion bank central building in the late 70's. The doors were activated by a clock with no human intervention and (believe it or not) no override button. He didn't make it. The door kept crushing him until he died of asphyxiation. A priest gave him the last rites while he was still alive. It took more than one hour to find the people who could release the mechanism. After that event, the doors were rewired for manual operation. The whole event was on TV. Amazingly, I couldn't find a picture. |
