Re: Death By Cement Truck
Translated caption: Pic 1: On the afternoon of September 20, 2007, a horrifying traffic accident took place at the cross-junction of Nanking road. An old man on his bicycle was run down by a reversing cement truck and droved over 3 times. Bystanders were horrified. Pic 2: This reporter fought back the strong emotions inside to snap a few photos of the old man under the truck. Pic 4: As the body had been run over 3 times, it was rendered virtually unrecognizable. Pic 5: A funeral parlor worker cleaning up the intestines and organs etc off the road. Pic 6: We can see from the faces of the bystanders the heavy and solemn atmosphere in the air at that time. Pic 7: Using a metal shovel to scoop up the internal organs of the deceased into the bodybag. Pic 8: Body being placed into the bodybag. Pic 9: The bicycle the deceased was riding was twisted out of shape under 30 tons of weight. Pic 10: The blood stains on the road may be covered with earth, but the bloody tire tracks will not disappear for a long time to come... |

Re: Death By Cement Truck
You'd be surprised (and likely appalled) at the obstinacy of some people. "I need to get across here. That driver will see me and can just wait until I get across!" Well, obviously he was wrong! In my line of work, I see it all the time. People in cars have absolutely no respect for big trucks. They cut them off, brake hard in front of them, and all sorts of other foolish and unwise stuff. People on bikes are just as bad. Although, thankfully, there a lot fewer bikes on the road in the U.S. But you do it in a car and it is dangerous enough. Do it on a bike, and you're just plain asking to get turned into road kill. I am on my toes constantly when I am driving in the company of a lot of cars. People will do anything to get around trucks - even and very often very stupid stuff! |
