While it's true that we did our share of capturing German POWs, these aren't them. Notice the condition of the bodies. These people were suffering from long-term malnourishment. Additionally, one some the bodies, you can see evidence of forced labor. Typically, lean muscle develops quickly. Without nourishment , though, lean muscle is quickly and quite literally, eaten by the body. While our soldiers weren't exactly overjoyed at having to care for German POWs, there has been no evidence that tactics like extreme starvation had been employed. |
