Dead ISIS Fighters After a Failed Assault on Deir ez-Zor Airbase, Syria, 2014
In early December 2014, ISIS launched an offensive against the Deir ez-Zor military airport in eastern Syria. Government forces repelled the attack after ISIS attempted to break through using car bombs, inflicting heavy losses.
