Thankfully they've caught the suspect and he will stand trial for the murder. Such events are terrible tragedies for all involved, both families. Everyone suffers. I'm sorry you had to experience this terrible event.

In all actuality, this whole scenario seems really surreal to me.. When I saw that body on the ground, I never thought that I would see anything like that again. Seeing all that blood on the concrete and a corpse on the on the deck was reliving the past. Only this time it wasnt overseas deployed, it was home and literally in the front yard. The Homicide investigators had a search warrant and searched all the rooms in the house. They went in Benson's room, bagged and tagged a grip of evidence and said they would keep in touch with us on any developments or if they need to ask for any more information. The San Diego Sheriffs Homicide detectives and the deputies that were here dealing with this were all PROFESSIONALS. Every single one of them. They treated everyone in the house fairly, with respect, and collected the evidence they needed to get the facts straight and solve this murder. Im happy that there are people like them to do this a job like that.. Much respect and gratitude to those who wear the badge and are doing it to serve. |

Benson has a history of mental illness and being Bi-Polar. In conversation, he has verbalized to me his desire to be in the military, but was not allowed to join because he had a prior medical history of psychiatric problems. When I had conversations with this guy, sometimes he was "There", other times he was in another dimension, on a different level. I just honestly didnt get a real good vibe from him. But to answer your question, NO, I didnt think he was capable of that.. Surprised the fuck out of me.. |

That could very well be a possibility. You can never rule out self defense. Once all the facts are straight, it will go to trial, be seen by a judge and jury, and let the verdict be known. We were roommates for approx 2 months. |

Fuck Docfr8, you should ask for a mental evaluation with that first and last months rent! Had a buddy do the string dance in 09 who was manic depressive and his last year was real dark! Said he would check out if he thought he might hurt someone and I guess he was at that point but was able to stop it himself... so fucked up!
