PHILIPPINES - At around 7:00 AM on June 12, 2022, E.G.C. and her partner G.D.V.P. were shot to death in Barangay Taviran, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao (now Maguindanao del Norte). Residents heard the gunshots at around 4:00 AM that day. Ten .45 caliber pistol slugs were recovered from the crime scene. The victims were brought to Villa Elisa Funeral Home in Cotabato City.
