Couple Kidnapped, Tortured, Murdered, Dumped
I use the term 'couple' loosely, as none of the news reports or anecdotal commentary I read actually indicated that these two people had an attachment or association aside from their bodies being dumped together. What I was able to ascertain is that their bodies were dumped on a road, fairly soon after death, at about 7:30 in the morning. The previous night had been a bloodbath in Chilpancingo, with eight other murders in the vicinity during that time period, a large number even for Guerrero. Both bodies were said to have exhibited signs of torture, though the reports are not usually specific as to what constitutes such things. The man had been killed by gunshot, but the woman's cause of death was presumed to be asphyxia, due to suffocation from being smothered with that plastic bag around her face. Further research on my part, including speaking directly to several locals from the area, was able to determine very little about the man. The young woman, however, was more widely known and I spoke with several of her friends and business associates. She was a 25 year old street vendor, who made her living primarily by selling vegetables and tortillas in a local outdoor market. She was very well liked within the market and by her regular customers. None seemed to have any idea why she was killed so brutally or who the man was. She was 'lifted' (usually a euphemism for forcible kidnapping) by two men in a green Volkswagon two days before her body was discovered. Time of death was fairly shortly before the body's discovery (blood on him and urine stains on her are obviously still wet), however, so she was likely held prisoner for those 48 hours and tortured before finally being suffocated and dumped. She had no known drug connections (at least not that anyone was willing to admit to), but the area is heavy with narco traffic, so there may indeed be a link. Anyway, here are the best photos I could find of the incident. I was able to obtain both a postmortem morgue photo and an antemortem photo of the young woman, the latter of which was taken about a week before her murder. |

Re: Couple Kidnapped, Tortured, Murdered, Dumped
It's certainly possible. There were conflicting reports about her actual cause of death, with several reporting asphyxia and some others reporting gunshot. I deferred to the suffocation theory because there was no bullet hole or blood spatter on the outside of the plastic bag on her face. The morgue photo you are referencing came later on (about 2 days after she was found), but she clearly has not been stripped and washed in it, as there is blood present around her nose and mouth. I see the blemish you're referring to and wondered if it was a bullet hole, as well. But with no stippling, no local blood spatter, and no additional structural damage to the skull, I still deferred to the asphyx COD. I am certainly neither a ballistics nor forensics expert and can only go on what is in the reports (often conflicting) and my own (very) amateur eye. Just seems very peculiar to me that there was no blood around the wound or on the plastic bag if she took a point-blank 9mm shot to the forehead. |

Same woman, yes. She's actually wearing a white sweatshirt style top OVER a blue tshirt. Just difficult to see due to the plastic bag. You can actually see the outline of the white top in the third image I posted. The following image shows both shirts more clearly. I didnt post it originally as the censorship blur is so intense, but since you asked...
