The crime, that took place around 7:00 pm in the Posto da Mata district in the Nova Viçosa, when a couple was executed while using a public phone inside the bar. The double murder occurred on the bars veranda next to the Trevo bus stop at Posto da Mata, at the BR 101 and 418 road intersection. The victims were identified as Nilton Alves Raimundo, also known as "Alves", 49, and Marta Francisca de Souza, or just "Marta", both from Itapé/BA. At the crime scene, police officers, under Captain Anilton Almeida command found four cal .38 shells.
