Passersby were shocked this morning to discover a white Nissan with a pair of severed arms on the windscreen. Further investigation of the vehicle found the remains of the man (minus the head) wrapped up in the back seat.

Police revealed a second shock as they popped the trunk and found the body of a young woman (estimated to be aged between 18-24) stuffed into the boot with a ligature wrapped tightly around her throat. She had been asphyxiated a short time before, probably after the man was dismembered. Though whether she was forced to watch him get the chop or was picked up and stuffed in the trunk later on, no one can know.

IDs have not yet been made on the bodies.

A few of these have some annoying watermarks, but that's Mexico today. Car was only found about 2 hours ago so I will update if more pics start circulating.

I know a man was killed along with the young woman (drug deal gone bad probably), however Mexico's femicide rate is one of the highest in the world.

Why are girls and women so hated, why are we inferior or a threat to males? Is it because we can make life? Or is it that we live longer unless we're killed by the likes of cartels and other boys' clubs?

Why hurt us? What have we ever done to men to deserve being murdered?

It's an interesting topic. Femicide is certainly a buzzword and a hot button issue in Mexico. And it is obviously a problem there. But trying to categorize deaths based on it as a motive is really tricky.

Most domestic murders involving women are classified as femicides and rightly so in my opinion. Since the term, in popular usage, generally refers to women being murdered primarily or exclusively due to a gender-based role or attribute.

The media and the legal community often hang the term on these narco-related murders as well, which doesn't make as much sense to me. First off, the ratio of men murdered in the Mexican drug wars is roughly 11 to 1 over the number of women. Most of the women who do wind up dead are acknowledged after the fact to have been active in the criminal life, though admittedly often at a lower echelon than their male counterparts. Were they targeted specifically because of their gender? Maybe. But they are unlikely to have been targeted at all fi they weren't active participants in criminal enterprise, so its a bit overbroad to lump them in with women who are murdered by jealous husbands, etc.

There are many states in Mexico who have now made it illegal for journalists and LE to even post uncensored photos of women who were killed violently, though in no state whatsoever does the same restriction apply to photos of male decedents. The law allegedly seeks to protect women by following the logic that allowing people to see them violently dead in photos encourages further violence against them. I don't agree, myself, but what the fuck do I know.

In any event, I always make a strong point to invest time and energy in trying to find out these women's identities and their proven or alleged level of complicity in crimes. The question is one that interests me, but it is often difficult to find clear and verifiable data.

I suppose it is also somewhat interesting that the man's corpse was brutally dismembered (very likely while alive) and set out for display while the woman was killed in a much more traditional method and hidden away in the trunk. Of course, being slowly garroted with a cord until you soil yourself and your tongue is hanging out of your mouth is a pretty rough way to go, no doubt about it. But the horror of methodical dismemberment was reserved (as it often is) for the male in the equation. Even in events like this where they are killed together, the male often receives the harsher 'punishment.'

I just got an updated report that the woman has been identified (though her name is not publicly disclosed) and was a known member of a local drug gang.

She was taken into custody by the police last week and let go the same day. The following day, two members of her gang were arrested. Her execution is presumed to be internal retaliation for ratting out her comrades.

Beheadings and dismemberments are usually reserved for rivals and spies. Snitches and thieves are most often strangled or hanged. So this sort of adds up. Initial postmortem results indicate that she was garroted from behind with a thin rope, likely while on her knees.

Still no explanation of who the dismembered man was or why he met his fate or why they were together.

In the game most are mules Transporters or look outs. If dope goes missing or is taken it falls on them you lose money or dope they pay with their lives. Or as they say "you riding with em you dying with em".
