College Student Found Hanging in Express Train

Rather sordid tale here out of Uttar Predesh

This 18 year old college student and aspiring writer was found hanging from a luggage rack in a train she had just arrived on. Her body was discovered by a janitor who was cleaning the train between passengers. She was in a partial suspension hanging with her bare feet on the floor of the train and had used her scarf as a noose.

The janitor reported that he had seen her 30 minutes earlier on the train, sitting and crying alone in the seat, but thought little of it. Girls cry a lot, especially in India, where they have much to cry about.

The police investigation turned up a whole cycle of drama, however, when they discovered her diary among her belongings. In her diary, she had written that she was abducted and gang-raped 4 days earlier by a pair of rickshaw drivers. She detailed the assault meticulously and wrote that they had tied her hands together with her own scarf and pulled her shirt over her head as they dragged her into the bushes and took turns raping her, just outside the NGO building where she was staying. She also wrote that she had reported the crime to her house matron, the NGO administrator, and her school mentor, all of whom allegedly claimed they would look into the matter, but none of them did.

A wide search was conducted for the anonymous rickshaw drivers, but they were not located. A pair of shepherds had stolen her bicycle as it sat untended and were later caught after being seen taking it on CCTV, but police exonerated them on the rape as they claimed they only took the bike and never saw the girl.

Eventually all three members of the NGO to whom she reported the crime were charged and arrested for failing to report the crime to the police.

Her family has continued to insist that she was murdered and the hanging staged, especially after she wrote a Whatsapp message to a friend while she was on the train, saying that some men were following her.

The postmortem and scene investigation, however, concluded that her death, while tragic, was indeed a suicide. The autopsy reported no toxins in her blood and no fresh injuries from the day of her death, though it did verify that she had several partially-healed scratches on her waist, thighs, and buttocks...likely from the assault in the bushes the week prior.

The police statement verified that her CoD was asphyxiation due to hanging. Her hyoid bone was not broken, her tongue was protruding, and her fingers were clenched inward as is typical in hanging suicides. The report also indicated that she voided her bladder during her hanging and that the floor beneath her feet was widely covered with urine, indicating a strong likelihood that she did indeed die in that exact spot.

The search for her assaulters is ongoing, but has thus far been unfruitful.

I've unfortunately experienced a "minor" rape and it caused great pain, anguish and trouble throughout my life, I cannot imagine what she's been through having been gang-raped

~ Always have in mind that there will always be predators & there will always be prey. Which one would you rather be?
~ Either way, survival of the strongest, smartest, & fittest is something to always be considered.

~ She was most likely followed first, then those 'shepherds' probably heard about it, & wanted the bike, since they were not going to be allowed to take part in the crime.
~ So when they were let go by useless & worthless authorities, as innocent, they reported back to the real perps who were probably in hiding.
~ Who then sent secretly some others that she didn't recognize, after her, for 'their' crude vulgar lowlife jollies to get filled, and kill her afterwards anyway.
~ So she decided she would rather die than go thru that ordeal of losing her dignity & self esteem again.
~ I also think that scarf was a special scarf, given to her, which was her favorite. Which also served as consolation for her pain & desillusionment.
~ She wanted to die with a happy memory, not a painful memory.

I only remembered that I was raped many months after the fact because I was drugged, so I couldn’t take the POS to court because there was no physical evidence. The awful memory and pain never go away even though it was 7 years ago. Such a sad story. RIP
