The NTC are claiming that Col. Gadaffi has been seriously injured whilst trying to escape from Sirte. haven't got much info myself so have robbed a bit of text from a UK News network;

Ousted Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has been captured, Sky sources say. Anti-Gaddafi fighters celebrated as news of the fate of the ousted leader emerged. "We have confirmation, dead or alive, that he is in the hands of the National Transitional Council," security editor Sam Kiley said.
"The sources who have confirmed it to Sky are as authoritative as it can get outside the NTC."
There have been conflicting reports about Gaddafi's condition and how the alleged capture happened.
A unnamed senior government official was quoted by Reuters as saying the former leader had died of wounds suffered during his capture. He said Gaddafi had been shot in the head.

"There was a lot of firing against his group and he died," the official said.

Lots of controversy obviously going to surround this story so let the thread update itself once a clearer story is presented (if ever!) Some sources say he's alive, some claim he's dead. Let's hope this isn't another 'Osama' ordeal eh?

The photo may be genuine in my humble opinion: it was released by Agence France-Presse (AFP), with the status of unconfirmed, but it could be real. Thanks for sharing.
