Re: Chinese Politician Kills His Lover with a Bomb (2007)
This is actually quite an interesting topic. There have been many cases in China where government officials have killed their mistresses due to extramarital affairs. Compared to officials in other countries, such murders stemming from affairs are relatively rare. In China, officials—typically members of the Communist Party (CPC)—face harsh punishment for such conduct, such as being expelled from public office. For civil servants, this is a severe blow: they are banned from holding future government positions (even their family members may be affected), barred from taking senior roles in major corporations, and could even lose access to their pensions. As a result, when problems arise in these affairs—often when the mistress threatens to report the relationship to authorities—some officials take desperate measures and resort to murder. These killings are usually carried out discreetly, either in a fit of passion or through hired hitmen. The example mentioned in the topic, where a bomb was used in broad daylight, is exceptionally rare—truly a jaw-dropping case. |

Re: Chinese Politician Kills His Lover with a Bomb (2007)
In the U.S. they would have a drunken fight, and then just split up. I guess there are some deaths in the U.S. over mistresses, but I think it's pretty rare. For one thing, no one here gives much of a shit. Everyone fucks around all the time. Although I have heard of a few mistresses that killed their lovers when things went south. |

Re: Chinese Politician Kills His Lover with a Bomb (2007)
That's why I always say for the posts here that involve murder in China, the suspect caught on video is finished. One bad thing though is YOU can also be executed in the same manner if you happen to kill someone in self-defense. It really is an eye for an eye and it is one of many reasons why people in China sometimes (not always) just mind their own business even when someone seemingly needs help. |

These pictures were taken on August 13, 2015. The words "port" are marked on it. The pictures were actually victim of the 2015 Tianjin explosions. |
