The blackening on the buttocks isn't from being spanked or beaten. Those dudes wouldn't beat them on their asses. They'd beat them where it really counts. The blackening is dependent lividity. They were killed elsewhere and were left lying on their backs for a while, so the blood pooled in the lowest spots, which would be their butts if they were lying on their back. A few show the same blackening elsewhere, so that shows how they were left lying after being killed.
