My mom and I got carbon monoxide poisoning when I was in college from our furnace. I didn't have it as bad because I went out to school every day, but my mom was lucky that she didn't end up like this poor guy. The idiot furnace repairman told her to keep turning the furnace on manually whenever the house got too cold while we were waiting for a new part to come in. She was so nauseated she couldn't get off the floor but she thought she had the flu. When we finally figured out what was going on, the ER doc said the redness of her cheeks is how people look just before dying of carbon monoxide poisoning.
