Re: Car in Lake: Teenage Girl Drowned
Well, if your head is under water, you'll only have a few seconds to use it. I once read a scientific report stating that most humans will pass out in about 10 seconds if there is no oxygen to the brain. There were of course variations across the sample - all volunteers. You will not die in 10 seconds - the volunteers in the experiment was revived without any (messurable) damage - but as unconscious you can't do anything to help yourself.

Re: Car in Lake: Teenage Girl Drowned
Oxygen is carried throughout the body by blood. So long as the heart is pumping and there is no major arterial constriction the brain will continue to receive oxygen for several minutes (or more) even while holding your breath. But if blood flow is completely cut off (strangulation via belt for example) you're fucked; it's lights out 10-15 seconds |

Re: Car in Lake: Teenage Girl Drowned
You're right, I suppose, the said experiment was about constricting the blood supply to the brain. I can hold my breath for more than 10 seconds as you say - though not for minutes. But I guess that might be more a question of power of will |

Re: Car in Lake: Teenage Girl Drowned
She drowned. Urine doesnt distinguish itself from water as shown when you pissed your one-piece as a kid in the local pool and no one noticed. Stupid fuckng comment. Of course she wet herself, she was terrified. And thank god you can't tell by this picture. Poor girl.

Re: Car in Lake: Teenage Girl Drowned
Right?? What kind of parent would let their 14 year old daughter go out dressed like this? She looks like a prostitute! I am not saying that she was, or speaking ill of her, may she rest in peace... Just calling it like I see it! Soooooo sad. |

Her dresscode is pretty normal for brazillian young girls. Tiny shorts and blouses that barely cover the breast are the usual outfit, not only for the unlucky ones that end up here as dead, but also for those we have seen as onlookers.

Re: Car in Lake: Teenage Girl Drowned
I've pointed that out before on different threads, when I see people who live in temperate zones expressing contempt at how 'slutty' girls dress in places like Brazil. Never seems to make any impression on them either. I'm thinking someone is going to have to be murdered in front of an outdoor thermometer before people start cluing in as to why women dress that way down there- It's freaking hot! |
