Burglars who robbed bank in Formosa do Rio Preto are killed by police

Three members of the gang that robbed the Bank of Brazil in Formosa do Rio Preto, in the Far West of Bahia, were killed in a gunfight with military police on Wednesday (16) in Mateiros, municipality of Tocantins. The assailants were identified as João Eudes Souza Rios, Valternei Cancio Miranda and Cristiano de Lima.
The operation also resulted in the arrest of Edgar Silva Freitas. He is in Precinct 4 Regional Police, Porto Nacional, in Tocatins, waiting for the clearance to be transferred to Bahia. The Deputy Regional Barriers, Aragon André Lima, is heading the case.
The bodies of João Eudes Souza Rios and Valternei Cancio Miranda were brought to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Palmas. According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of Tocantins, they would have resisted arrest.
On the site were seized a revolver, five pistols, the amount of R $ 234,821.20 plus various ammunition, and a Toyota Hilux pickup truck, which was used by the assailants in the robbery and escape.
An employee and the manager of the bank were taken hostage during the robbery. They were in the hands of bandits on the run and released after they left the city.
