It's the norm in Asia to take your shoes off when entering someone's home. Though I grew up thinking this was the norm in all countries, I didn't encounter otherwise well into my 20s!

Her fingers were caught in the noose. Someone pulled them out after the rigor mortis has settled. Probably the first person who found the body.
