Cambodia - Worker Crushed by Bag of Rice
On the afternoon of 6th April 2021 in Phnom Penh Commune (Cambodia), 48 year old S.M. was killed at work. The rice had been harvested + it was ready for transporting. 'S' was one of those hired to do the task. 'S' + the other workers got into their vehicles + keeping 100 metres apart, off they went. During the journey, one of the straps, keeping the sacks of rice in place, broke. The sack pinned 'S' to the steering wheel, crushing him to death.

Thank you very much, lady. I agree, it's great when funeral photos + such are to be found. It makes it somewhat 'complete'.

Looks to me like the rice wound up loading the blue support bar, which folded over and pinned him. I don't know if a strap was involved in this or not, unless the strap was holding the rice away from the support bar, and when the strap failed, the load hit the support bar, and folded it over to pin him. But he was definitely killed by the blue support bar.

Yep, my thoughts too. It's those bloody Cambodian translations, they rarely make sense. I'd assumed that they were strapped down + when it broke, the sacks fell, with the weight of them + the blue guard, it crushed him against the steering wheel.
