Cambodia - Teenage Guesthouse Worker Found Dead in One of the Rooms

On the morning of 28th January 2021 in Kandal Province (Cambodia), C.S. was found dead.

The boy + his mother, 53 year old L.T.E., worked as cleaners of a guesthouse.

2 male guests checked into room 7, though the employee who gave them the keys, had not asked to see ID, nor noted down any details. 'C' had been called to the room by the guests + he was not seen alive again. The men had bound the boy's hands + feet, then suffocated him with a towel. When the boy was dead, the suspects stole his mobile phone + left the room. They locked the door + fled on the motorbike belonging to the guesthouse owner.

The guesthouse owner, 29 year old O.S., checked the CCTV. She saw the 2 men breaking the lock on her motorbike before speeding away on it. Also on the CCTV, the 2 suspects were seen leaving room 7. 'O' went to the room + found 'C' dead. The police were called.

Items found in room 7:
1. 2 cigarette butts.
2. 2 unopened cans of beer + 2 empty cans.
3. 2 cans of Coca Cola
4. A grey long-sleeved t-shit, belonging to one of the suspects.
5. A white towel.
