Cambodia - Man Stabs His Ex to Death then Tries to Kill Himself
It was 3rd September 2020 in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) + 27 year old V.M. had split up with 47 year old E.D.V. 2 weeks ago after a 10 year relationship. 'V' was moving out of the home they shared + had got her brother to collect her belongings. That evening, along with 3 other people, 'V' + 'E' had a little get together to say goodbye. 2 of the guests were cooking in the kitchen + after a while, 'V' asked her brother to take her belongings to her new home. That left 'V' + 'E' alone together, drinking. Screams were heard by the guests in the kitchen + they came running into the next room. In front of them, 'V' was on the floor, covered in blood. 'E' was next to her stabbing himself in the neck. An ambulance + the police arrived + 'E' was taken to the hospital. 'E' survived his self-inflicted injuries, but 'V' died from the attack by her ex.

This is exactly why I do not have any knives with blades less than 12" in my kitchen knife drawer. If it should come to this, nobody survives 12" of steel. It is a little clumsy to spread butter and honey on a piece of bread with a 12" but what can you do.
