shotgun rounds are measured by "gauge" not caliber. this looks like buck shot, or .00 gauge round wound...it has only about 8 small bb projectiles (which does more damage because they are bigger than bird shot)....while a bird shot gauge would have nearly a hundred little balls |

nope. shot pattern is spread out a good 6 inches. "point blank" would be one (big) hole, accompanied with burns and bodily damage from the gas ball that exits the gun barrel. i'd SWAG that the shooter was a good 15 feet away when he discharged the buckshot. |
