The 55 yo cab driver was talking to his friend (another cab driver) when 3 men approached and ordered the other cab driver to go away.
When he was a few 100 ft away he heard shots and when he returned he found the 55 yo dead on the street.
The strangers were armed with a 12 gauge shotgun, another with a revolver and a third with a machete. The victim died from a shot in the head from the 12 gauge.
The crime occurred near the residence of the victim. Inside the house, relatives, especially his wife, heard the shots and left the residence to see what had happened and stumbled upon the body.
The house is located in an area with insufficient light. The thugs that killed the cabbie were hiding near the house and waited to commit the crime.
After the murder, according to witnesses, the three ran to a plantation, where they disappeared.
Police was informed that recently the cab driver had revealed that the family was being threatened.
