Intestines boil up and pop through the crusty, crispy charred flesh. An even better effect that I've seen a couple of time would be what we call the "popcorn effect"- this is when the human brain, previously intact, boils, and pops a skull open, end up in so much "popcorn" on the top of the splayed head. Tasty!
