Brian Marlin, 51, Killed on I-71/75 in Covington KY: Body Carried 2 Miles
In the early hours of Thursday, February 2, 2017, Brian Patrick Marlin, 51, a homeless man from northern Kentucky, was hit and killed by a car on the northbound side of Interstate 71/75 in Kenton County, Kentucky. The driver traveled about two miles with Marlin's body lodged in the windshield, then stopped at the Speedway station at Fifth and Philadelphia Streets in Covington and called 911. Marlin's leg was located in the roadway shortly beyond the Kyles Lane exit. About fifteen minutes before the collision, Fort Wright police had responded to a report of a man walking on the highway near that ramp but found nobody. The incident was not a hit and run. The driver stopped and reported the collision, telling the dispatcher he had struck a man on the interstate. He told officers Marlin was crossing the interstate and that he swerved in an attempt to avoid him. Police said the driver was not facing charges, and no charge was reported afterwards. An initial report made before the victim was identified called the person hit a woman, an error later reporting corrected. |

I read the title and immediately though "wait huh, how'd he get a car?" But... no it was the homeowner that was doing the driving not the homeless. |

The driver returned to the gas station to bring back the window cleaner guy. |

Interstates, major highways, autobahns, etc. are engineered for motor vehicle traffic and not pedestrians. From NHTSA: nighttime driving visibility is reduced by as much as 65% vs daytime visibility. 70% of roadway pedestrian accidents occur between the hours of 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM yet nighttime driving accounts for only 25% of the total driving hours.

Re: Brian Marlin, 51, Killed on I-71/75 in Covington KY: Body Carried 2 Miles
Driver was obviously considering how he could get away with it. For two miles he drove, probably trying to push the corpse out of the window. I bet someone watched the man get hit. Otherwise, why would the driver admit that he drove with him for two miles. Seems too nefarious. Hit and run, probably drunk driving.
