Brazilian Post-Mortem Photos From Multiple Incidents, Captured Oct. 2009
On September 15, 2005, police shot Pedro Machado Lomba Neto, known as Pedro Dom, in the corridor of a residential building in Lagoa, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was struck in the chest by rifle fire at about 4 a.m. A long blood trail extended along the tiled corridor. He had been arrested in 2001 for illegal weapons possession, but no conviction is on record. His family maintained that police attributed to him crimes committed by other gangs. At least two other deaths occurred in unrelated incidents. The identities, locations, dates, and circumstances of those deaths have not been established, nor has the criminal status of the men. By October 1, 2009, photographs from the separate incidents had been combined into a Portuguese-language slideshow. That capture date does not establish when the unidentified deaths occurred. |
