On 16th September 2018 the body of a farmer identified as R.B.d.S, 52, was found floating in a stream in a metropolitan region of Manaus, Brazil.

Local residents found the body and brought it ashore, closer examination revealed that the corpse had suffered a knife wound to the abdomen leaving the intestines exposed.
Police later confirmed that the cause of death was indeed abdominal trauma rather than drowning, they also believe he was thrown in the stream shortly before or after he died.

The owner of a nearby shop confirmed to the police that on the previous evening the farmer visited his establishment, had a few beers and left just before midnight.

R was a local, had no wife or children and lived alone in a small place where he planted vegetables sold his produce in the market at the Feira Municipal do Careiro da Varzea.
