Brazil - Young Lady Shot Dead
On the afternoon of 20th January 2022 in Parque São Pedro (Brazil), 20 year old A.P. was murdered. The owner of a kitchenette had rented it out to someone, that person then rented it out to 'A' (who the owner says they do not know). The young lady was found dead inside, with a shot to the head. Locals report that it was her partner that pulled the trigger. It's also thought that the murder was a result of a faction war. The police believe that the kitchenette was used to store weapons + drugs.

It's a very small living space, usually a living room (that doubles up as a bedroom) with kitchen area + a separate bathroom.

~ It's called subleasing, whereas someone rents a space at a price, then subrents it another person at a higher price, so therefore they make a profit. ~ Renting it to a gang who will use it for weapons & drug storage can bring in a nice profit margin, but it will also incur deadly collateral risk to either renter or subrenter, by rival gangs. ~ If it was her renter partner who shot her, then she, the subrenter, didn't pay up or didn't want to pay a higher rent, so a dispute may have incurred. |

Yeah, studio apartments. They're referred to as bedsits in the UK (though I think they're a more dingy version!).
