A week after the first landslide, on the night of Jan. 11, in the mountainous region of Rio, more than 21,500 people are displaced and homeless in seven municipalities in the area, according to the numbers of municipalities of Nova Friburgo, Teresopolis, Petropolis , Bom Jardim, São José do Vale do Rio Preto, Sink and Areal. Death toll now reaches 680.
