I'm sorry to hear of your loss. It may seem insignificant to some, but my almost 21 year old cat passed away this February as well. I was more attached to that cat than anything else in my life, and he deteriorated in front of my eyes.

I used to fly planes a lot. Wet runways do this. Imagine landing at + 125 KTS, no braking action, sailing down the runway and hoping enough ahead. You cannot use the brakes or nose wheel to steer, just the rudder and a little graceful nudge from God.

My 10 year old 6-foot albino corn snake died this year. He was so sweet: loved to eat rats. Damn, he was fast when he saw a rat.

But just a big baby who liked his head rubbed and riding around with me, wrapped around my shoulders for warmth and the view. Do snakes purr? Mine did, I thought.

His name was "Snaky," of course.
