Brazil - 2 Criminals Shot Dead by Officers
On the morning of 11th April 2020 in Bujaru (Brazil), 2 men were committing robberies on the PA-140 motorway. Military police officers from the Operational Tactical Group (GTO) tracked down the house in which the 2 men were hiding. Upon arrival, the officers surrounded the house. Within seconds, gunshots came from inside + the officers had no option but to retaliate. The 2 criminals were shot + taken to the hospital but both died from their injuries. From the house, the officers seized: "221 oxy stones, 49 bundles of marijuana + three of cocaine, in addition to two shotguns, calibres 12 + 28, used to shoot at the police, four ammunition, a black motorbike + R$86.00 in cash." Both men were drug traffickers + belonged to a criminal faction. One of the men had been a fugitive from the Penitentiary System since 2017.
