Mistress, it is extremely rare for a coyote or even coyotes to attack a human, extremely rare, indeed. They are a terribly misunderstood animal. So far as children are concerned, the odds are many times greater that a domestic dog will attack and harm a child than a coyote. In a nutshell, they are not dangerous to humans. Perhaps they ate the man after he was dead. =)
