The writing on the signs in the second pic from the bottom looks like Thai. If that is indeed the case, then these guys were probably associated with the Muslim insurgency in Southern Thailand. This has been an ongoing problem in Pattani and areas near the Malaysian border for over ten years. They have threatened on at least one occasion, to send suicide bombers to Bangkok but to my knowledge, this hasn't happened (not counting the red shirts). Either way, here seems to be yet another classic example of a peaceful rational and tolerant group of people that is showing the world how much they love God by killing themselves and people who's only offense was minding their own business.  |
