Body Found In Aokigahara, Japan’s “Suicide Forest.”
Aokigahara, also known as the Sea of Trees is a 35-square-kilometre (14 sq mi) forest that lies at the northwest base of Mount Fuji in Japan. The forest contains a number of rocky, icy caverns, a few of which are popular tourist destinations. Due to the wind-blocking density of the trees and an absence of wildlife, the forest is known for being eerily quiet. The forest has a historic association with demons in Japanese mythology and is a popular place for suicides; 54 completed the act in 2010, despite numerous signs, in Japanese and English, urging people to reconsider their actions. i think this is the forest where they have signs at the entrance saying "don't do it", "you have a lot to live for", etc because of all the suicides. Creepy pic |

interesting. I wonder why his face decomposed so much but his head and (possibly) body didn't. perhaps the bugs are the cause. they seem to go for the eyes and face first. |

Someone had that picture of a person hanging from a tree and his or her face ripped off. It was an avatar. Maybe you have to put the rope in a way to support your entire body or your face stretches and sometimes falls off. I guess they didn't think it through. |

Re: Body Found In Aokigahara, Japan’s “Suicide Forest.”
I saw a short documentary-type video about the sea of trees. in one of the scenes, a guy found a body that appeared to have literally slipped out of the rope after decomposing. it seems like this guy was just a couple weeks away from the same fate. many bodies in this forest were not discovered for a long time. |
