A body in an advanced state of decomposition was found this Monday (29) near a farm in the municipality of Santa Cruz do Arari.

According to the Military Police, the force was alerted by a local resident who reported the presence of traps in the vicinity of the farm.

At the site, officers found several traps containing dead birds and, a few metres away, a motorcycle without a licence plate, believed to belong to the missing man. During searches of the area, the officers located, some metres further on, a human body in an advanced state of decomposition.

It is thought the body is that of 65-year-old Pedro A.T.P., who had been missing since 6th December and who was known to own the same model of motorcycle.
