Re: Blind Man Slashes Wife's Throat
No info except they had an argument and he attacked her. So they could have had an argument, she walked away or went to lie down and he didn’t like that and attacked her as she was laying down. He could have even pretended to be fine, so she wouldn’t suspect anything and then he attacked her. Also he could have stabbed her before doing what he did to her neck. You can’t tell, but sort of looks like stabbed areas on her chest. Her fingers on her left hand look sort of stumpy, maybe he sliced them as she was trying to fight for her life...? Also...he could have hit her in the head, then is a broken piggy bank in the bed, if it’s made of some sort of stone, could have knocked her out..? |

Re: Blind Man Slashes Wife's Throat
i read that police investigation found out there was no struggle as she was asleep on the bed when he jammed the knife in her throat by surprise. She was 6 months pregnant and he thought the baby wasn't his so that's why he killed her. In Brazil everything is possible |

Re: Blind Man Slashes Wife's Throat
Yeah, that investigation and his conviction just concluded this past week. Thanks for the additional info. That said, as is often the case with Brazilian news blogs, I think some of the information is sketchy. I struggle to believe that that woman is 6 months pregnant. There's barely any bump there at all and she's skinny as a rail. 3 months? Maybe. But 6? Several articles mentioned 6 and several others only said 'pregnant' so I avoided using the specific figure in my original post because I doubt it is accurate. Highly unlikely the data came from a pre-natal care report or a postmortem report. Likely from the blind guy guestimating the time. But yeah, the rest seems to be correct as far as motive. |

Re: Blind Man Slashes Wife's Throat
Are the autopsy results usually made public? I'm thinking that it might say in there how old the fetus is.

Re: Blind Man Slashes Wife's Throat
The cause of death is sometimes made public, but not the autopsy results themselves. It wouldn't be unusual for them to mention the age of the fetus when releasing the COD, though. The fact that they didn't is a little odd, as they usually jump at the chance. And I realize that some women do wear pregnancy differently. Just...she really doesn't look anywhere near 6 months to me. |

Re: Blind Man Slashes Wife's Throat
My thoughts too. I've had 2 pregnancies + you really can't miss a 6 month bump, especially on someone slim. It does seem strange that they seem to have just plucked a random number out of the air. Even if the man had said that's how far along she is, surely the medics can see she doesn't look it. Ah well, maybe the true age of the fetus will be made known within the next few days.
