3rd one down: What up with the kleenex in her nose?
this is part of prep and usually cotton balls/kleenex are stuffed far up into the nasal cavity before the funeral. the cartilage starts to collapse and people end up with a very awkward flat nose if you don't.

BTW Marbell, good job. Mya's story is still in my head. Such a pretty girl and had her whole life ahead of her. Makes me wonder if her Aunt was always mean to her.

Re: Beautiful Girls in Their Coffins

so sad :( depression can kill. Many can hide that they are depressed. I knew a guy who hanged himself in his backyard. His Dad found him and he had just made plans to get together with friends in a few days. He went home and hung himself. He was the nicest kid and the sad part is his Mother committed suicide also by hanging a few years later. She was also very depressed.
Very sad but unfortunetly not uncommon.
Suicide can run in a Family.
It is also not uncommon for someone to be very calm and almost at peace before commiting suicide.
They have come to their decission and have accepted it.
I had an E.R. doctor explain it to me best.
He said he rarely ever worried about the teens and twenty sometings with their weak attempts at slit wrists or the housewife who takes half a bottle of sleeping pills .
His claim was these people never inteneded to die in the first place.
They were either asking for help or crying for attention.
He told me that 9 times out of 10 the person who has honestly came to the conclusion that death is their only way out will just do it and thats it.
You see them taken directly to the mourge no E.R. time involved.

Re: Beautiful Girls in Their Coffins

I just don't get the idea of open coffins.I've had 2 deaths of loved ones in the last 5 yrs,and while it was necessary for me to say goodbye to their bodies in the hospital,in private, the thought of seeing them actually in the coffin in public would just about kill me.When I saw my mother's CLOSED coffin in the chapel-knowing she was in there- I just about collapsed.I can't imagine the grief of losing the girl in the last pic- to lose a beautiful daughter like that would be devastating.
Sorry to be morose-I lost somebody recently & it's still kinda raw.

I have seen quite a few friends in their caskets and my old job I used to deal with seeing and cleaning up after the dead and it never bothered me till my grandpa died at the beginning of the year. It took every ounce of strength I had in me to see him at the funeral home and to bury him.
