Bank robbery is not the brightest move, nor is a gunfight with police (who WILL kill you). But these actions on the part of a bank robber are usually not matters of choice, but nothing-to-lose desperation. Some people run out of options in their various societies, and, given the state of the world's economies and unemployment rates, I bet we'll be seeing a significant increase of this the world over.
