Bad End on the Roadside

Woman in her mid-30's was discovered dead on the roadside in Mexico. She was bound and gagged, with a length of cloth around her throat. CoD was determined to be asphyxia through strangulation. She also had bruises from a beating in the torso and her hands and fingers were broken and covered in caustic chemical burns. She was obviously severely tortured before being killed and dumped.

No suspects or motives were discussed in the article.

I have a friend who lives in Mexico City; never seen any problems at all. It seems to happen in the more rural places, smaller towns etc. As long as you stick to big cities youre good to go!

Not entirely true. A more accurate assessment would be "So long as you stay out of the main drug corridor, you're good to go."

More than 50% of the violence that I read about/find photos for in Mexico takes place in either Acapulco (pop 1.02M) or Juarez (1.5M).

Re: Bad End on the Roadside

You don't see any of this in the commercials by the visitors bureau.
