The body of this young woman was supposedly discovered by several of her friends, hanging in a garage shortly after she sent one of them a text message saying she was going to hang herself.

The reasons around the incident are a bit muddy. Apparently a rental car was stolen from someone. This girl was said to be the primary suspect, as she has a history of being involved in car thefts. According to the text message, she hanged herself in shame and depression because no on trusts her and she hates her life.

Her family believes that she was murdered by other parties involved in the car theft, either by the person responsible for the car or by her accomplices. They think she was killed elsewhere and her body hanged to stage a suicide. Of course, much of this theory is predicated on nonsense, fueled strongly by her friends leaking photos and video of her corpse and the 'netizens' going bananas because her feet are on the floor.

The first visual examination by police was performed at the scene, but the family has also requested a full autopsy, the results of which are pending.

Based on the initial scene report, the police are currently treating it as a suicide due to the following indications:
1. No obvious violence on the body aside from ligature mark, which matched perfectly with the plastic rope used as a noose.
2. The girl's sandals were scattered haphazardly below her body, indicating that they likely came off during the hanging process. This is typical for loose footwear during a hanging suicide because of the jerking movements the body makes during asphyxiation.
3. Her face was cyanotic, with a swollen tongue protruding past her lips. Her lips were covered with saliva and it was dripping down her chin. Salivary discharge typically indicates that the decedent was alive when they were hanged.
4. Fingers of both hands were curled inward in a posture typical for hanging deaths.
5. The presence of both urine and feces were observed in her underpants, which is regarded as being highly consistent for a suicidal hanging. As most site users probably know, this can happen with any death, but is especially prevalent in hangings so the Indonesian scene reports always mention it if they shit their pants at a supposed suicide scene.

Yeah, I always dig the cases that are a bit less straightforward, but they often never wind up being publicly resolved, so it can leave a lot of loose ends in my half-assed Yankee reporting of mysterious deaths happening on the other side of the planet.

I strongly suspect suicide as well. I'm following several of her friends and family's FB feeds for the moment, which heightens the chances of actually hearing the formal autopsy report, since it likely won't make the national news unless it does turn out to be a likely homicide.

Here is a short video her family posted on FB to indicate significant bruising on her thighs and pelvis. This was filmed the day following her death, once her body had been washed, clothes changed, and she was being prepared for the funeral.

Of course, they take this to mean that she was beaten and injured before being hanged as opposed to just crediting it to postmortem lividity.

I shouldn't complain from an informational perspective, though. The more hung-up the families get on their conspiracy theories, the more details about the death we are likely to get.
