News media spoke lightly of the engineer's injuries. From one news
source, "The train's engineer was treated for minor injuries..."

His injuries were not so minor.

He was knocked unconscious and sustained a broken jaw, cheekbone and
eye socket...and a concussion.
Interesting point made here.

It's true, the welfare of the drivers are rarely taken into account. Or that of witnesses traumatised by the sight!

Perhaps they are both unfortunate victims but of a different cause.
