While the site does tend to incorporate a lot of 'gallows humor' into its culture, we extend a particular measure of respect to our content providers. People who spend countless hours researching cases, finding photos, and making posts are going to be allowed the privilege of politely requesting that you not make rude/sexual/disrespectful remarks about the subjects of their posts.

No, it isn't necessarily against the rules. Which is why I am warning you rather than banning you outright.

I'm not a fan of Oswald, but I do read his comments. I believe in free speech, so I'm glad he is here. This is reality, so what can be said?

Chris is also a big believer in free speech. It's part of the point of this site. But we do have rules. This is a privately owned website, which means we can censor or obstruct free speech any way we please. The Constitutional right to Free Speech only protects you from the government restricting you, not private individuals.

As I mentioned, Oswald (like his similarly-minded comrade in arms Gimlet) is very careful to not directly violate any rules when he posts. Which is why he hasn't yet been banned.

I was mostly just warning the OP that trying to 'understand' Oswald's mentality when you're not on his wavelength is virtually impossible and a waste of time for anything other than laughs.
